What is VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)?
VoIP or Voice over Internet Protocol, also referred to as an Internet phone, is a technology that allows voice to be sent over the Internet using a broadband connection such as DSL, Cable or T1.
After speaking into a regular phone that analog signal is converted by the VoIP ATA device to a digital signal. It is then sent out over the Internet where it will be converted back to an analog signal for the remaining distance over a traditional telephone carriers wires.
What kind of Internet connection do I need for a ZeraFONe service?
You need a broadband Internet connect like DSL or cable with a bandwidth of at least 100kbps on both the upload and download. Most broadband Internet connections will have larger uploads and downloads.
Can I use my computer at the same time as talking on my Internet (VoIP) phone?
Yes, you can surf, check email and do the things that you normally would do while talking on the phone and they should not conflict with each other.
The telephone VoIP adapter (ATA) that ZeraFONe sends you has two Ethernet connections, one to your modem and one to your PC, so both your VoIP telephone and computer can connect to the Internet at the same time.
What are the advantages of a ZeraFONe phone service?
The advantages of a ZeraFONe service are great. First you will be able, depending on the plan you choose, to have unlimited* calls inside North America or even International destinations, at a significant savings over a traditional phone service. And as part of your service, you receive many features at no additional cost. Does Zerafone's service offer 911?
Yes, most locations qualify for 911 service. During an order 911 validation is part of the online process. In some cases your address may not validate, but you can proceed by agreeing to a wavier. In that case, after you establish your account you should once again proceed through the validation process, as most addresses are available for 911 service. It is important that if you are unable to get a 911 validation that you contact support at 866-434-7765, where an agent will assist you to complete the process.

How are the quality of calls with ZeraFONe?
As VoIP is a digital signal the quality can be astounding. ZeraFONe uses RNK Telecom to handle their calls and in most cases you can hear the difference. RNK Telecom has a reputation of superior service and owns a stable and extensive network. But, as with any connection there are factors that can affect your connection, such as your Internet provider's connection and the amount of bandwidth that you subscribe to.
Is there a contract period if I sign up for ZeraFONe?
No, we make things easy. We believe that you will like your service so much, that we do not feel the need to make our customers subscribe to a contract. If the need comes up to cancel, you can do so without penalty.
If I decide I no longer want my service is there a cancellation fee?
No, ZeraFONe does not charge a cancellation fee. However, if you cancel an account before the third month, ZeraFONe will require that you return the free VoIP telephone adapter. If you do not return after canceling before the third month the adapter there will be an equipment charge.
If I move can I take my service to my new location?
Yes, you can move across the street or across the country and still use your service. All you will need is a broadband Internet connection.

When you dial into VoIP-2-Go, you will be asked to dial 011, then the International telephone number you wish to call. After you have entered the telephone number Press the Pound Key (#).
